Eight Pregenerated Character Builds

The eight pregen characters are listed in the following table:

The Play Difficulty column is a general rating on how complex the character is to play. The Type is a 1-2 word summary of the build, and the Notes describe a bit about what their traits are. These characters cover several different playstyles and looks for the miniatures. I’ll go into a little more depth on each character below.

The Bio Officer is a splicer build that is focused on their squad above anything else. They have some of the strongest squad members available to them, including a standard Medic and a rookie Mechanic to keep them all tip top. They’re also quicker than most other human characters, allowing them to maneuver around the battlefield to stay in support range of their squad. Position their Allies effectively and make good use of their Communications skills to succeed.

The Sword and Pistol splicer build is equipped with a Heavy Pistol and Energy Melee Weapon (in this case specifically, I chose a cutlass). A well balanced fighter optimized for short range, this character is built to lead the way into battle for their squad. They suffer from not having additional Power available to recharge their melee weapon, and a Backpack Battery is recommended as an early upgrade.

The Armored Infantry build represents a fairly balanced example of a basic armor build. Equipped with Power Armor and a high powered rifle and melee weapon, they can wade into battle and absorb hits while their Allies maneuver to better positions. They are subject to some of the more advanced rules, such as rotation, due to the Bulk of their armor.

The Cyber Sniper is a cybernetic build that excels at ranged combat and awareness of their surroundings. They are fragile and will depend on their Allies to screen for them. This character’s standard loadout includes basic Traps knowledge and a mine with one of their squad members carrying an extra one (just in case).

The Shock Striker is a close combat splicer build optimized for use against either armor wearing, AI, or cybernetic foes. They’re extremely quick, allowing them to get behind armored opponents, and have Shock weapons that have special effects on any character with a Systems score. They have a veteran rated Ally that is their equal in close combat and that carries a pair of EMP grenades.

The Cyber Monk is a defensive focused cybernetic build that has a high amount of Knowledge, particularly in Hacking, Security, and Survival. Knowledge in this game provides the player with different skills that all have different effects or enhancements. Effective use of this character is reliant upon the player being able to keep track of these skills and to deploy them effectively during the campaigns and scenarios.

The Grenadier is a cybernetic build wielding a high capacity grenade launcher and specializing in Explosives. Extremely effective against mobs, the weakness of this build is in the amount of ammo they can carry. Their Allies are carrying spare grenades to help compensate for this.

The Infantry Tank is a slow heavy armor build. This build is excellent against clumps of enemies with its thick armor and plasma flamethrower. They have a high amount of Knowledge, which has been applied to the Armorer, Explosives, and Repair skills. The Allies for this build are particularly weak, with half of them being made of recruits. Keep this character out of close combat and try to catch your enemy just as they enter the range of the plasma sprayer.
